dc.description.abstract | En sistemas de materiales porosos no saturados, el esparcimiento de surfactantes produce un movimiento de agua que ocurre desde el sitio donde se encuentran hacia el extremo libre de ellos. La posible aplicación de este fenómeno a sistemas naturales, hace necesario el estudio de la influencia del ascenso capilar sobre el movimiento de agua por surfactantes. Este fenómeno se analiza en columnas cerradas en los extremos, formadas por anillos interconectados y sistemas de partículas con tamaño homogéneo, donde el ensamblaje de la columna es en forma vertical y horizontal. dc.description.abstract | In unsaturated porous materials, the surfactant spreading produces a water movement from the surfactant containing to the surfactant-free region of the system. The possible application of this phenomenon to natural systems may necessary the study of the capillary rise influence on the water movement by surfactants. This phenomenon was studied in columns closed in the extremes, formed by rings interconnected and systems of homogeneous particle size. In this work the capillary rise effect on the water movement by surfactants originated during the vertical or horizontally column's rings joining, was studied. Materials utilised were kaolin (jx2pm) and glass beads (<jx110pm>). In kaolin systems, without surfactant, the capillary rise effect was evidenced in columns joined vertically. This effect was translated in systems with surfactant in an increase of the initial water content of ring 2 during the rings joining. The hypothesis generated was that in systems with surfactants (in ring 1) when it faces the higher than initial water of ring 2, an increase of total water moved in the system was produced, mainly from ring 2 to 3. This hypothesis was corroborated by the coincident results found in columns joined vertical or horizontally with different initial water content between ring 1 and 2-3. The total water movement found in the last systems were higher than that found in systems with constant initial water in all rings. Systems of glass beads, without surfactant, showed no difference in the water moved originated by the column position joining, pointing out the absence of capillary rise. The direction of water movement by surfactant obtained, for this system, for different initial water between the rings, were in agreement but with lower amounts of water moved than that found for kaolin systems. | en |
