Fecundity (number ofeggs/female), oviposition rate (eggs/female/ day), viability ofeggs and longevity of adults for Dichroplus elongatus were measured under laboratory conditions. Mean fecundity (x ± SE) was 81.09 ± 14.02, with an oviposition rate of 1.94. Maximum fecundity was 203 eggs. Eggviability (x ± SE) was 65.90 ± 2.05%. Mean longevity (x ± SE)was41.72 ± 4.13 days for females and 49.92 ± 4.07 days for males. Results showed that although D. elongatus was in recent years the most abundant species in communities of SW Buenos Aires province, its fecundity did not appear to be comparatively high.
