El impacto del avance de la inteligencia artificial en la elección vocacional ocupacional

Abstract

Se presenta un estudio de caso llevado a cabo en una institución educativa de gestión privada de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires cuyo objetivo general fue explorar si el avance de la inteligencia artificial (IA) condiciona la elección de carrera en adolescentes próximos a culminar sus estudios secundarios. Se indagó si la expansión de la IA se percibe como obstáculo o facilitador para el desarrollo profesional y si, a partir del conocimiento de la misma, los encuestados modificaron la elección previa. Los resultados obtenidos expresan que estos conocen, en un 99 % de los casos, la IA y la creen bastante y muy útil en un 66 % de los casos. Ante la pregunta sobre si consideran que la IA podría reemplazar algún tipo de trabajo en el que está interesado el participante, los datos obtenidos arrojan una respuesta afirmativa del 45 %, el 33 % cree que no lo reemplazará y el resto aún no sabe. El 57,3 % de los encuestados expresa que el avance de la IA influye en su elección vocacional. Los resultados obtenidos convocan a la reflexión sobre el rol del orientador y la necesidad de la actualización profesional en contexto de permanente cambio.

A case study is presented. Its general objective was to explore whether the advance of artificial intelligence (AI) conditions the choice of a career path in adolescents about to complete their high school studies in a private educational institution in the city of Buenos Aires. We investigated whether the expansion of AI is perceived as an obstacle or a facilitator for professional development and whether, after learning about it, the respondents modified their previous choice. The results obtained show that 99 % of the respondents are aware of AI and believe it to be quite and very useful in 66 % of the cases. When asked if they consider that AI could replace some type of work in which the participant is interested, the data obtained show an affirmative answer in 45 % of the cases, 33 % believe that it will not replace it and the rest do not know yet. A total of 57.3 % of the respondents expressed that the advance of AI influences their vocational choice. The results obtained call for reflection on the role of the guidance counsellor and the need for professional updating in a context of permanent change.
