Tendencias modernas en el tratamiento de la insuficiencia cardíaca

Abstract

El autor menciona las causas de la insuficiencia cardíaca, destacando su acción sobre el metabolismo de la fibra miocárdica. Divide los medios de tratamiento en dos grupos, los que apuntan especialmente al aspecto metabólico y los que consideran primordialmente la dinámica circulatoria alterada.

The author mentions the causes of cardiac insufficiency, remarking its action upon the metabolism of the myocardiac fiber. He divides the means of the treatment in two groups, which point specially the metabolise aspect and those which consider primarily the circulatory dynamic altered. Among the first he includes: rest, administration of oxygen, glucose, insulin vitamin B and the treatment of the coronary circulation; among the last are: drastic purgatives, diuretics", bleeding and cardiac tonics. He gives his opinion about every one, according to his personal experience.
