Los muñecos de fin de año en La Plata: una propuesta para su gestión patrimonial

Abstract

Este trabajo aborda el análisis y diagnóstico de un bien patrimonial de carácter inmaterial: la construcción y quema de muñecos de fin de año en la ciudad de La Plata. Se describen las diferentes actividades implicadas en la celebración, los agentes involucrados y sus motivaciones, reseñando los posibles orígenes y los abordajes realizados desde diversas disciplinas. Reconociendo los valores que presenta el bien y en virtud de la falta de protección jurídica y las amenazas identificadas que afectan su dinámica y desarrollo autónomo, se plantea una propuesta de gestión que busca implicar activamente a sus protagonistas en la valoración, documentación, promoción y apropiación de este.

This issue includes the analysis and assessment of an immaterial heritage: the construction and burning of Muñecos or Momos in New Year’s Eve in the city of La Plata. It presents the different activities implied in the celebration, the people who are involved and their motivations; and it reviews the possible origins of and approaches to this custom from the perspective of different disciplines. By recognizing the values which this asset presents and due to the lack of legal protection and the identified threats which affect its dynamics and autonomous development, this publication posits a management proposal which seeks to involve actively the main characters in the valuing, documentation, promotion and appropriation of it.
