El impacto de los trabajos de Daniel Kahneman en la administración

Abstract

The study of decision-making has expanded empirical knowledge on the subject through research and studies that have offered explanations to many of the questions that are usually made. One of those questions had to do with whether the decision of the executive was only arational type, or there was also some intuition and emotion when deciding.The aim of this work is to consider the contributions madeby Daniel Kahneman and several of his collaborators, especially those related to administration, in order to start findingpossible answers to the above mentioned question.The development of the proposed topic is analysed through the available literature on Daniel Kahneman and colleagues’ thinking. Different pieces of work that integrate their ideas, highlighting those thatspecially impact on Administration are mentioned.As a result of this work we see the relationship thatnaturally exists between what Kahneman called System 1 (intuitive) and System 2 (rational), exposing the errors and biases of quick thinking and influence of the intuitive on our thinking and behavior.

El estudio de la toma de decisiones ha ido ampliando los conocimientos empíricos sobre la materia a través de investigaciones y estudios que han ofrecido explicación a muchas de las preguntas que habitualmente se hacían. Una de esas preguntas tenía que ver con que si la toma de decisiones de los ejecutivos era solo de tipo racional, o en cambio también existía algo de intuición y emoción al momento de decidir.El objetivo del presente trabajo es reflejar los aportes que realizaron Daniel Kahneman y varios de sus colaboradores, especialmente en lo que refiere a sus trabajos relacionados con la Administración, a efectos de ir encontrando respuestas a esta pregunta.Para el desarrollo del tema propuesto se analiza el pensamiento de Daniel Kahneman y sus colaboradores a partir de la bibliografía disponible. Se reseñan distintos trabajos que sintetizan sus ideas, destacando aquellos que impactan en la Administración.Como resultado de este trabajo vemos la relación que existe de manera natural entre lo que Kahneman denomina Sistema 1 (intuitivo) y el Sistema 2 (racional), exponiendo los errores y sesgos del pensamiento rápido y la influencia de lo intuitivo sobre nuestro pensamiento y conducta.
