Políticamente incorrectos: sentimientos identitarios en la literatura rural gauchesca

Abstract

El objetivo de este trabajo es estudiar un horizonte sentimental e identitario alternativo al grupo coral oficial a través del zócalo discursivo de los sainetes gauchescos, de los cielitos y de los diálogos patrióticos de fines del siglo XVIII y principios del XIX y otras fuentes pertinentes. La utilización irónica de la emergente literatura gauchesca se hizo a veces subversiva de los valores revolucionarios, con valores modulados de manera diferente de lo que la política y la ideología “correcta” indicaban acerca de lo que constituían la civilización y la barbarie. Cuando la discusión sobre la asignación de sentido acerca de este sintagma se tornó imposible, los sainetes desaparecieron de la escena pública rioplatense.

The intention of this work is to study the cultural identity in the appearance of the gauchesca literature (1780-1828). For doing that, the article looks through the frame of the “sainetes gauchescos”, “the “cielitos” and the “patriotic dialogues” and other sources, the horizon and feelings of belonging of a group, which reveals an identity and social culture different from the official choral version. The ironic use of the syntagma "civilization and barbarism" marks a clear counterpoint between the politically correct ideas of that time about what “civilization and barbarism" was and to whom should be assigned until this subversive use became impossible.
