Plantas usadas en medicina popular en el sector sur de los humedales rioplatenses de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina

Abstract

Los humedales rioplatenses bonaerenses se extienden desde la localidad de Punta Lara hasta la localidad de Magdalena. Esta zona ha comenzado a degradarse desde finales del siglo XIX por la acción antrópica. El incumplimiento de las leyes de protección y conservación ambiental bonaerenses 11.723 y 12.756, ha acelerado la retracción areal de los humedales y la pérdida de su biodiversidad. La ley 12.756, declara Paisaje Protegido de Interés Provincial para el desarrollo ecoturístico al área del norte y centro de los humedales rioplatenses comprendida entre la Isla Santiago y el balneario Bagliardi, sin incluir su extremo sur que se extiende desde el balneario La Balandra hasta la zona ribereña de las localidades de Atalaya y Magdalena. Existiendo estudios previos sobre el valor alimenticio, condimentario y medicinal de numerosas especies vegetales presentes en el norte y centro de estos humedales, realizamos un inventario informativo de las especies vegetales medicinales utilizadas por los habitantes del extremo sur de esta ribera, comprendido entre las localidades de Atalaya y Magdalena, con el fin de revalorizar este recurso fitoterapéutico, como un nuevo elemento a ser tenido en cuenta por el Poder Legislativo y Judicial de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, para la protección y conservación de los humedales en toda su extensión. El inventario incluye: nombre científico, nombre vulgar, familia, hábito, origen geográfico y estatus, uso medicinal, parte del vegetal utilizada para la elaboración del producto fitoterapéutico y forma de preparación y de administración del producto medicinal.

The Rioplatense wetlands of the province of Buenos Aires extend from Punta Lara locality to the Magdalena locality. This zone has begun to degrade since the late nineteenth century by anthropic action. The breach of the environmental protection and conservation laws of the province of Buenos Aires 11.723 y 12.756, has accelerated the retraction of these wetlands and the loss of their biodiversity. Law 12.756, declares Protected Landscape of Provincial Interest for ecotourism development to the area of the north and center of the Rioplaten wetlands between Santiago Island and the Bagliardi spa, not including its southern end that extends from La Balandra spa to the river area of the localities of Atalaya and Magdalena. Existing previous studies on the nutritional value, condimentary and medicinal of numerous plant species present in the north and center of these wetlands, we have made an informative inventory of the medicinal plant species used by the habitants of the southern sector of the wetlands with the objective to revalue this phytotherapeutic resource in all her extension, as a new biology element to be taken into account by the Legislative and Judicial authorities of the Province of Buenos Aires, for the protection and conservation of the wetlands in all its extension. The inventory includes: scientific name, common name, family, habit, geographical origin and status, medicinal use, part of the vegetable used for the preparation of the phytotherapeutic product and form of preparation and administration of the medicinal product.
