Protocolo quirúrgico para el manejo de pacientes diabéticos en la clínica odontológica

Abstract

El siguiente protocolo es una creación con recomendaciones Ad-Hoc para el tratamiento odontológico del paciente diabético, en el proyecto marco de Investigación y Desarrollo: “Estudio de los niveles de glucemia en el preoperatorio y postoperatorio de pacientes adultos que concurren para su atención odontológica a la Asignatura de Cirugía “A” de la FOLP”. El tratamiento exitoso del paciente odontológico usualmente incluye una planificación con un enfoque interdisciplinario. Un factor comúnmente no considerado es la causa de pérdida de piezas dentarias que varía en estos pacientes, pero un subgrupo mayoritario incluye periodontitis. La enfermedad periodontal es una complicación de la diabetes y además un riesgo de pobre control. Promover acciones odontológicas de carácter profiláctico. La Metodología a utilizar, será descriptiva, observacional, se trabajará con pacientes a ser atendidos en “Cirugía A” de la FOPUNLP, durante los años 2019- 2020-2021-2022, en los cinco turnos que funciona la Asignatura. El material a utilizar serán Historias Clínicas. Al considerar el estado sistémico general del Paciente, y conjunto con la planificación del tratamiento, se mejorará el pronóstico y predictibilidad de las terapias odontológicas en pacientes con Diabetes Mellitus, generando mayor tasa de éxito.
